How to serve

Drag across the court — the aim moves across the service box on the other side. Let go when the tossed ball is at its top (the green of the meter on the right): the better the timing, the harder and truer the serve. Early or late — slower and looser; well off it — into the net. Keyboard: the arrows aim, space serves.

Aces

A serve counts only if it does not come back: the returner reaches further against a slower serve and stands closer to where you serve most (and where others serve most). A full serve straight at him is an ace too: he has no room to swing. An ace is a point, an ace into the highlighted zone (wide, body or T — a new one every serve) two.

The second serve and the end

Miss the first and you get a second (slower, safer). A double fault, or a serve that comes back, ends the series. With every ace the returner gets quicker, the window on the toss shorter; from the fifth serve a wind blows.
