How are the predictions made?

Each sport has its own statistical model. It is trained on the history of results and takes into account team strength and the circumstances of the match: line-ups, rest, home advantage. The model calculates the numbers; no human edits them. The details are on the How the model works page.

Can I check how accurate the model is?

Yes. The last estimate before each match is stored, never changed afterwards and marked «came true» or «missed» after the game. The overall numbers and the backtest are on the model accuracy page.

Which sports and competitions are covered?

The site now covers football, hockey, tennis, basketball and volleyball (beta). «Beta» means the model is new and its accuracy record on real matches is still being collected. Each sport’s competitions are listed on its page.

Is Forepitch free? What is Premium?

Buying Premium is optional. You can use the site without registering and without Premium: the free predictions, the match and competition pages, the model’s accuracy and the Telegram channels are open to everyone. Every match and the main probabilities are free. Premium adds every model line, the score grid, every factor, the combinations builder and unlimited favourites; it can be paid for only on the Premium page, with Telegram Stars through our bot or in USDT.

Is Forepitch a bookmaker? Can I place bets here?

No. We take no bets and are not affiliated with any bookmaker: the site is information and analysis only. It is for adults (18+); how to stay in control if you gamble is on the responsible gambling page.

Do you sell «fixed matches», «sure tips» or VIP groups?

No — such things do not exist. We do not sell predictions in private messages and have no «agents». Anyone selling these in the name of Forepitch is a scammer; our real addresses are in the official channels block.

What do «value» and an edge over the market mean?

Value is when your estimate of a chance is higher than the one built into the odds: say, 50% against odds of 2.30 (about 43%). Only such bets can make a profit on average, and that takes an estimate more accurate than the market’s. Our model does not have such an edge yet — the closing market is more accurate, as the value betting review shows. The Kelly criterion only sizes the stake to an edge; without one it just loses faster.

Why can a prediction change before the match?

The data is refreshed every 15 minutes, and the model re-estimates when line-ups, news of missing players or other results arrive; the models themselves are regularly retrained on new results. The model does not use bookmakers’ odds on the match itself. The match page shows the time of the latest estimate, and the accuracy record takes the last estimate before kick-off.

What time zone are match times in?

Your local one: the browser converts the times to your device’s time zone. With JavaScript off, times are in the zone of the site’s language version, named at the bottom of the page.

How do I get predictions on Telegram?

Join our channel: @forepitch (predictions in Russian) or @forepitch_tips (predictions in English). It posts the model’s main picks and the results every day. We have no other official channels.
